"With members spread across Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, the debut LP from Nylex – ‘Plastic for People’ has been a labour of love for the group, but one well worth the wait!
Presented here are 9 tracks of pop driven post-punk with an emphasis on dance-ability and high energy throughout the mix. With the drums at time sounding almost programmed in their steady beat, the bass and vocals carry the melody, with stabbing reverberant guitar lines throughout.
Not unlike the tight twang of mid-west US classics Pylon, or Australia’s own Pel Mel - NYLEX have been quietly carving out their place in the Australian underground, playing infrequent yet treasured performances to those fortunate enough to catch them.

Featuring members of HYDROMEDUSA, RULE OF THIRDS, and WIREHEADS, the band are touring nationally through October, November and December before tackling Europe in 2020."

Generacion Suicida making it all the way over from LA to play 2 shows in Perth as part of their national tour courtesy of Lost in Fog Records! 

South Central Los Angeles (USA) Generacion Suicida started as a side project in a garage circa 2010 but since then has continued to blow the doors open for Latin American punk by continuously writing, recording, and releasing some of the best up-beat punk to date. G.S. is well versed with both male and female vocals, harmonising melodic KBD style punk songs while keeping it short and to the point.

"For a while there you couldn’t walk into your local record store without tripping over a new Ausmuteants release, but the band has been quiet for the past couple of years. The World in Handcuffs breaks the silence, and I think it’ll please existing fans while also giving them something a little different. Ausmuteants is very much the same band playing the same jittery, confrontational synth-punk that gained them worldwide popularity, but this album feels a little more mature. The tempos are less manic, the songs more varied, and the big, melodic synth lines that used to be Ausmuteants’ calling card sit further back in the mix." Sorry State Records.

COLOURED BALLS "First Supper Last or Scenes We Didn't Get To See" LP

Their first recordings! Before "Ball Power" (1973). Before "Heavy Metal Kid" (1974).
Proto Punk/Boogie/Blues/Progressive/Psych/50s Rock 'n Roll/Pop that still cannot be pigeonholed. Back in print for the first time in over 40 years. After LOBBY LOYDE had blazed a trail in THE PURPLE HEARTS, WILD CHERRIES, and THE AZTECS, he formed COLOURED BALLS and Australian rock 'n roll has never been the same. Recorded in late October/early November ‘72, but not issued until May ‘76. Shortly after it was recorded in ‘72, their manager left their label, Havoc Records, and took COLOURED BALLS with him. He then secured them a deal with EMI Records who were offered the chance to release what became “The First Supper Last or Scenes We Didn't Get To See”. It was originally slated to be titled "Rock Your Arse Off!". EMI declined, saying the recordings were too raw and that there were too many different musical styles to market - which is, of course, two of COLOURED BALLS’ greatest strengths. The album was finally released in ‘76 when Lobby signed a new solo record deal with Rainbird Records to issue his "Obsecration" album, the tapes for "First Supper Last" were also dusted off for release. Sadly, Rainbird Records folded soon after it was issued, which is why original copies can fetch $400+. It’s been out of print ever since, until now. Includes detailed liners by Ian McFarlane with rare photos and flyers.

"Debut release from this new band coming out of Perth. Wild Tone have a really unique sound. It’s synth based punk/pop, there seems to be a nod in the direction of the late 70s and early 80s era of UK and US punk rock (like GUN CLUB or the ART ATTACKS), but they give it their own spin and opt out of guitar in lieu of synth rhythms. It’s melancholic and it’s poppy but not quite like the new wave of the early 80s. Parts of it head towards 80s era WIRE and some of the more synth pop driven punk like HIKASHU. It’s catchy as hell though, portrays some classic humour that only people from Perth will appreciate, and makes a perfect soundtrack for sun-turnt Saturday nights in Northbridge."
